The 2026 Nissan Pathfinder has been spotted testing in the United States, showcasing a completely redesigned front end that will debut later this year.

While the prototypes resemble the current crossover model, they feature a more rounded front bumper. The final production version might include further modifications, particularly in the interior.

In March, Nissan revealed that an updated Pathfinder would be released alongside the redesigned Sentra later this year. Recently, spy photographers captured images of several prototypes undergoing testing in hot weather conditions in the U.S.

The refreshed model remains easily recognizable, now sporting a front bumper with soft curves and smooth surfaces. The grille appears to be more flush and better integrated into the overall front design. Although the headlights seem familiar, a previous teaser indicated the possibility of new lighting elements extending into the grille.

The general design appears to be carried over, but the camouflaged rear bumper might conceal some minor updates. It’s also possible that Nissan will introduce new taillights, although that remains uncertain.

While spy photographers didn’t capture the interior, we anticipate that a few updates may be implemented to keep it current. Besides potential changes to the infotainment system, some trims might replace analog gauges with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, which is currently exclusive to the top-tier Platinum model.

Currently, the model utilizes a 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces up to 295 hp (220 kW / 299 PS) and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. This engine could be retained, but there’s a possibility that the new model will take inspiration from the Infiniti QX60 by adopting a 2.0-liter VC-Turbo four-cylinder engine with outputs of 268 hp (200 kW / 272 PS) and 286 lb-ft (387 Nm) of torque.

More details are expected to emerge in the coming weeks, but it seems we are looking at a relatively modest update.
