While the powertrain of the DLS is remarkable, it is arguably the cabin that stands out as the most striking aspect of this particular model.
The Singer DLS was launched seven years ago and received an update in 2023. RM Sotheby’s anticipates that it will auction for between $3.25 million and $3.75 million. The exterior features Parallax White paint complemented by Norfolk Yellow lettering.
In 2018 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, Singer introduced the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study, known as the DLS. It was designed as the ultimate version of the renowned restomodded Porsche 964 911 from the Californian company, and it has since become a modern icon, with one recently selling for $3 million. Another example is set to be auctioned soon.
This specific DLS was the same vehicle revealed at Goodwood in 2018. Dubbed EP1, it is finished in Parallax White with Ghosted Light stripes and Norfolk Yellow lettering. It has appeared in numerous publications and was carefully refreshed by Singer in 2023. It now looks almost brand new, having been driven for only around 850 miles (approximately 1,300 km).
Singer produced only 75 units of the DLS, each carrying a base price of $1.8 million in the US. With additional options, the price can rise to the $2 million mark. RM Sotheby’s is managing the sale through its Sealed division and expects the vehicle to sell for between $3.25 million and $3.75 million, surpassing the price of a Koenigsegg Jesko.
The Singer DLS features a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine developed by Williams Advanced Engineering, producing 500 hp, an impressive output for a street-legal air-cooled engine. The only available transmission is a six-speed manual, which directs power to the rear wheels.
Originally, EP1 was displayed with silver wheels; while these are included in the auction, it currently rides on Norfolk Yellow Fuchs-style wheels that enhance its appearance. The interior seamlessly matches these wheels and the exterior branding, adorned with vibrant leather on the seats, door panels, headliner, and lower dashboard. The cabin also features extensive use of carbon fiber, including a custom transmission tunnel.
Since all DLS models were quickly sold, acquiring one from the used market is the only route for those eager to own one.
