American Honda has established an insurance agency designed for Honda and Acura owners throughout all 50 states.
Honda Insurance Solutions operates as a broker that can assist with securing coverage for various items, including vehicles and residences.
One notable policy option guarantees that any repairs will utilize only OEM Honda and Acura parts.
Honda offers a wide range of vehicles, encompassing most wheeled forms of transport and even some that aren’t. The American division of the Japanese manufacturer is not just focused on selling cars, motorcycles, boats, or ATVs; it also aims to provide insurance for them.
Additionally, insurance companies are increasingly writing off vehicles after accidents faster than ever before.
American Honda has introduced Honda Insurance Solutions (HIS) to aid Honda and Acura purchasers across the United States in obtaining coverage. Although it is not an insurance provider, it operates as an agency licensed in all 50 states, supported by the insurance broker VIU by HUB.
A Recognizable Name in a New Market
In this regard, it essentially offers a rebranded version of existing insurance options, but the recognition and trust associated with the Honda brand are likely to resonate with customers wary of insurance providers and their rising premiums. Clients can arrange coverage for a wide variety of vehicles and even their homes.
HIS also has a unique advantage that might persuade undecided Honda drivers to choose this new agency for their monthly premiums. The inclusion of OEM parts coverage guarantees that all repairs will utilize only genuine Honda and Acura components.
The manufacturer claims that this will help maintain a vehicle's value, although it's wise to approach such assertions with skepticism. We’re not discussing classic Ferraris; rather, we are focused on Hondas that have experienced accidents, and it's questionable whether offering thousands less at trade-in due to repairs with aftermarket parts instead of OEM parts is a real concern.
Nevertheless, the OEM aspect may attract dedicated enthusiasts and meticulous owners. For everyone else, the appeal of Honda-branded insurance will hinge largely on pricing compared to competitors. The company asserts that its policies will be "competitive," with future plans to enhance convenience significantly.
Plans are in place to integrate the insurance service into the automaker’s online vehicle sales platforms. Would you prefer to insure your vehicle through its respective brand, and would you be willing to pay more for OEM parts coverage? Share your thoughts in the comments.
