"Frustrated Cybertruck Owner Claims 'Still Squeaking After 50 Days in Tesla Service' | Carscoops"
The owner is now seeking either a refund or a replacement truck due to a minor yet bothersome issue.
A Cybertruck owner reports that their vehicle has been at a service center for weeks due to a persistent squeaking noise. Tesla's team has held onto the truck for 40 days without identifying the source of the sound. The owner now requests that Tesla either buy back the truck or provide a brand-new one.
Beyond severe mechanical problems, squeaks and rattles are among the most frustrating issues drivers can encounter in any vehicle. Imagine facing a constant rattle or squeak in a vehicle that's nearly brand new and costs a considerable amount of money. This is the predicament one Cybertruck owner is currently grappling with, and Tesla appears unable to resolve the issue with the electric pickup.
The owner initially shared their experience on Facebook in June, stating, “My Cybertruck is in service for a squeak originating from the front left pillar near the windshield. The service team attempted to use foam and insulation to fix it, but were unsuccessful.” Consequently, the team opted to send the truck to a collision center.
No Progress After Prolonged Repairs
Since then, the situation has not improved. In a recent update, the owner claims the center has kept the truck for 40 consecutive days without finding a solution. “They’ve swapped out parts, added insulation, and tried several methods, but the problem persists,” he explains. This seemingly includes disassembling various components and attempting repairs without success. A message from Tesla service assures the owner that it is a high priority and that efforts are ongoing.
Interestingly, this doesn’t appear to be an isolated case, as in the initial June post, multiple other owners reported similar problems.
Another owner remarked, “My CT has a rattling noise from the same area (front driver’s side dashboard/a-pillar area near the front window) when driving over bumps.” Another added, “I have dashboard and pillar rattle and squeak too. This is my third attempt to fix it.” One more stated, “I’ve had so many creaks, squeaks, and rattles… I’ve taken it in five times already.”
From Frustration to a Dealbreaker
Ironically and sadly, one owner confessed that the rattling is so severe they now prefer to use a different car when they want a quiet ride. It seems that the owner mentioned in this story is reaching a similar point. He now desires Tesla to either buy back his truck or provide him with a new one, though there's no guarantee that the replacement won't produce similar squeaks. We will keep you updated on this story if further developments arise.
