New Bodykit Changes Suzuki's Compact SUV into a Timeless Off-Road Classic | Carscoops
Cal’s Motors has launched the Beas+ L kit, transforming the five-door Suzuki off-roader into a vintage look reminiscent of the Chevy K5 Blazer.
The revamped five-door Jimny, courtesy of the Japanese tuner, features a new bodykit that includes chrome bumpers and retro-style wheels, giving it a distinctly American off-road appearance.
With each passing moment, a new bodykit for the Suzuki Jimny seems to emerge, each adding something unique. The latest offering from Cal’s Motors, a division of Japanese tuner Alpine Style, converts the compact off-roader into a retro adventure vehicle inspired by classic American SUVs.
This particular version, named Beas+ L, is based on the five-door Jimny known as Nomade in Japan. It builds on the established Beas and Beas+ kits designed for the three-door Jimny and Jimny Sierra, extending the vintage-inspired aesthetics to a more spacious and practical model.
Vintage-Style Features From Front to Rear
The standout feature is the newly designed chrome grille, which includes rectangular LED headlights with separate turn signals. The front inspired by the Chevy K5 Blazer is complemented by a matching chrome bumper and relocated fog lights. The Suzuki badge has been removed and replaced with Cal’s Motors branding on the hood.
At the back, the design takes a different approach. The standard Jimny’s rectangular taillights are swapped for round LED versions, which are set into a custom chrome-plated bumper. Optional enhancements include Moon Chrome wheels with all-terrain tires and a refreshed spare tire cover on the tailgate.
While the showcase vehicle is finished in Orca Black Pearl 2, additional color options are anticipated to be available. Interior enhancements include leather-style seat covers, branded floor mats with Cal’s Motors, a 7-inch Alpine touchscreen for media and navigation, upgraded audio equipment, and a digital rearview mirror.
Mechanically, the SUV retains its original specifications. However, a suspension lift kit can be added for improved ground clearance and visual impact. The Jimny is equipped with a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 103 hp (77 kW / 105 PS) along with 134 Nm (99 lb-ft) of torque, and it can be fitted with either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic transmission. Though it lacks the roar of a large American V8, it does transmit power to all four wheels through a competent 4WD system.
Pricing Details
The price for a fully converted Beas+ L starts at ¥3,740,000 (around $25,200), compared to the base price of the standard Jimny Nomade, which is ¥2,651,000 ($17,900). However, obtaining a donor vehicle is not easy, as the demand for the Jimny continues to exceed supply in Japan.
For those considering a smaller option, the three-door Beas+ provides a similar look, starting at ¥3,080,000 ($20,700).
