The Porsche Taycan introduces a new Black Edition featuring visual and interior upgrades.
This edition includes gloss black accents and the upgraded Performance Battery Plus pack.
It's available for the Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S models in the United States.
In a challenging year for electric sedan sales, one particular model has faced difficulties keeping up. The Taycan was Porsche’s slowest-selling vehicle in the first half of 2025, even lagging behind the aging 718 sports car soon to be replaced. To enhance its attractiveness, Porsche is launching a new Black Edition for the US market, which offers more defined styling and a broader array of standard features, including the largest battery pack in the lineup.
Additionally, Porsche’s new electric SUV is breaking records even before it hits showrooms.
The EV comes equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels featuring full-color Porsche crest center caps, matrix LED headlights, and a seamless rear light bar that displays an illuminated black Porsche logo. The optional extended Black Edition package also includes front door decals for added visual appeal.
Despite the name implying exclusivity, the Black Edition isn't confined to just one color. Standard color options include Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, Ice Grey Metallic, and the Jet Black Metallic displayed in press materials. Customers seeking a unique look can choose from the Legends, Dreams, or Contrast color collections or opt for complete customization through the Paint to Sample program.
Interior and Equipment Enhancements
Inside, the Black Edition maintains a monochromatic theme with understated black details and embossed leather trim. Illuminated black brushed aluminum scuff plates and a distinctive Black Edition badge on the center console enhance the refined aesthetic.
The trim package includes a comprehensive list of standard features, such as several driver-assistance systems, the Storage Package, 14-way power comfort seats, a Bose Surround Sound System, and Porsche’s Electric Sport Sound.
For those desiring further personalization, the Sonderwunsch program from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur offers extensive customization options specific to the Black Edition.
Underneath, all three Black Edition models come equipped with the Performance Battery Plus as standard. Typically an optional upgrade, this 105 kWh battery enhances range and enables improved performance metrics. The electric powertrain itself remains unchanged, delivering up to 429 hp (320 kW) in the base Taycan and reaching a maximum of 590 hp (440 kW) in the Taycan 4S.
Deliveries of the 2026 Taycan Black Edition are scheduled to commence in the fall of 2025, with pricing details to be announced closer to the launch date.
