Harley Rider Collides with Deer at High Speed Yet Somehow Remains On Bike | Carscoops
While the rider managed to avoid a crash, his friend behind him dropped his bike following the impact.
The Harley's considerable weight may have protected the rider during the collision with the deer.
The situation could have turned out much worse, especially since the biker was reportedly not wearing a helmet.
His friend, who was riding behind, also crashed but thankfully emerged without serious injuries.
Riding a motorcycle poses significant risks. You must always be vigilant for drivers who might cut you off or change lanes unexpectedly, along with the possibility of wildlife darting across the road. A biker in the US was fortunate to recount his experience after narrowly escaping what could have been a severe accident when he collided with a deer.
The incident took place on June 6, when Kyle Hamilton was riding along a picturesque mountain pass near Hulett, Wyoming. His friend was behind him, and a camera mounted on his motorcycle recorded the moment a young deer dashed across the road directly into Hamilton's path.
With hardly any time to react, Hamilton had to brace himself for the collision: he was going to hit the deer. He crashed directly into it but, astonishingly, managed to remain on his heavy 2023 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. Had he been on a lighter motorcycle, he might not have fared as well. Unfortunately, his friend, riding behind him, was thrown off his bike during the incident but escaped with only minor injuries.
In an interview with Cowboy State Daily, Hamilton stated that he was riding at the front of a group at roughly 55 mph when the impact occurred. He pulled over shortly after the video ended to help remove the deer’s body from the road. His bike sustained significant damage to the front end and will require repairs or possibly replacement.
The crash could have easily been fatal. It does not seem that Hamilton was wearing a helmet at the time, and if he had fallen off, he could have easily suffered a severe head injury.
