The refreshed ID.3 and ID.4 are set to be launched next year, featuring updated styling, new interiors, and an abundance of buttons.
Volkswagen is preparing to unveil the facelifted ID.3 and ID.4 next year, with design elements inspired by the ID.2 and an enhanced interior.
Updates to the powertrain are anticipated, promising greater power and improved efficiency.
Volkswagen of America recently mentioned that the 2026 ID.4 will undergo a "mid-model-year change," leading to the addition of new features for the electric crossover. While this was a somewhat vague indication of an update, more details are beginning to emerge about the forthcoming model.
In an interview with Autocar, Volkswagen's board member for technical development suggested that the ID.3 and ID.4 would receive a facelift to align more closely with the ID.2. Kai Grünitz hinted at a "lower and squatter stance" as part of the redesign.
The interior redesign will reportedly include an entirely new dashboard and user interface, although specifics are currently unclear.
Additionally, Volkswagen plans to reintroduce physical controls, such as a round volume knob. An insider remarked, "If you develop something that works, and it has worked for years, there’s no reason to replace it."
While details on the powertrain are still scarce, advancements in electric vehicle technology imply that there will likely be updates, potentially featuring more powerful and efficient motors, along with newer battery packs.
The revamped ID.3 is expected to debut in the second quarter of 2026, followed by the ID.4 later in the year. Furthermore, the company aims to introduce a competitor to the Jeep Avenger, named the ID.2X, at the forthcoming Munich Motor Show.
