Recently, a Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 was purchased at auction for below MSRP.

This particular vehicle only has 134 miles on the clock and includes nearly every available option.

The era of extremely high values for the general population of Demon 170s appears to be truly finished.

Regardless of personal opinions about the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170, it's undeniable that it has secured its place in muscle car history. With a drivetrain that can produce up to 1,025 horsepower and 945 lb-ft of torque, it’s an undeniable powerhouse.

Twenty years ago, the concept of this vehicle being a mass-produced model with a complete warranty would have seemed absurd. Today, it stands as an icon in its segment, though you shouldn't anticipate it retaining its value like other legendary muscle cars.

That’s the conclusion drawn after one sold at auction for $128,000, significantly less than this specific car’s MSRP of $134,600. This isn’t about a worn-out, heavily used, or slightly damaged vehicle. We are discussing a well-equipped, low-mileage unit loaded with extras. And how low is that mileage? It’s just 132 miles.

Furthermore, the new owner will receive a parachute kit, Demonic Red Laguna leather seats, an 18-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, Mickey Thompson tires, factory-spec Lacks Enterprises 18” front and 17” rear carbon-fiber wheels, and the stylish decanter set that came with the car from the dealership. If there is a point of contention, it would be the rather ordinary Granite paint job. Nonetheless, it still looks quite sleek.

Comments suggest that many view this as a bargain. “Wow, great deal for a premium spec demon,” remarked one user. “WOWZW WOWZA… steal of the year on BaT. Well done,” added another. Clearly, this appears to be a solid deal overall for a vehicle expected to perform well for years ahead.

According to various other results, this represents the lowest winning bid so far, but it may not hold that title for long. Just a few days prior, a Demon 170 used for promotional purposes sold for $130,000. That unit had only nine miles on it and boasted a sought-after red color.

Could we soon witness a Demon 170 with a few thousand miles trading for under six figures? At this point, it seems increasingly likely.
