Right off the assembly line, the GMC Hummer EV Pickup is an impressive vehicle, both in terms of its striking appearance and its hefty curb weight, exceeding 9,000 pounds. The Edition 1 further emphasized its size, with an MSRP of $113,000 back in 2021. So, what’s next for an owner? At least one opted to contact Apocalypse Manufacturing and SoFlo Customs, resulting in this eye-catching red, bed-lined beast mounted on outrageous custom wheels.
If one word could sum up this creation, it would be “red.” The exterior features a red bedliner, red paint on the mirror caps, red leather and other materials inside the cabin, and red details on the wheels. While we appreciate a bold interior, this vehicle seems to verge on overwhelming. Surprisingly, the matte black “Apocalypse” badging on the back stands out as one of its more understated elements.
According to the listing on Hemmings, this Edition 1 has recorded just 6,712 miles. Quick calculations show that the current owner has paid about $17 for every mile driven, not including the costs of its various modifications. The listing indicates that the front brush guard is made from solid steel, and the exterior bed lining is infused with Kevlar. It’s impressive how the Hummer EV manages to make 22-inch wheels paired with 37-inch mud-terrain tires appear somewhat small.
The owner mentioned that the truck originally left the factory in Interstellar White before undergoing Apocalypse’s “Strikeforce” modifications, which included redesigned “slantback” bed sides, a brush guard, and a complete red interior and exterior. The seller also notes that the tailgate was replaced due to damage sustained while reversing, and this issue is also recorded in its Carfax report.
An interesting detail not mentioned in the listing, but visible in one of the photos, is a small-scale model—possibly an RC version—of the Hummer, also in red. That’s a nice touch.
Even if the Strikeforce package came at a reasonable cost, we’re still looking at a significant six-figure investment. Whether the eventual selling price will reflect that expense is uncertain, but with only a few days left, we remain doubtful.
