Hyundai has teased the upcoming generation of its Xcient heavy-duty truck series.
The new model showcases futuristic design elements, including LED lights reminiscent of those on the Palisade.
It also features digital mirrors aimed at enhancing aerodynamic performance.
While Hyundai is primarily known for its cars and SUVs, the company has a somewhat lesser-known division focused on heavy-duty semi-trucks and buses. Its latest offering is the new generation of the Hyundai Xcient, a flagship heavy-duty truck in production since 2013, now poised to enter a new phase.
And yes, they’ve shared some teasers on social media prior to the official reveal, proving that even large trucks can benefit from a bit of influencer flair.
Although most semi-trucks evolve slowly with minor updates, Hyundai has taken a bold step forward with the Xcient. The new model features a complete redesign. The headlights, influenced by the latest Hyundai Palisade and Genesis models, incorporate sleek LED blocks. These are accompanied by large aluminum-style blades that extend from the grille to the windshield, giving the truck a modern, aerodynamic appearance.
The grille has an arrow-like shape with a cube mesh pattern and a smaller Hyundai emblem. The digital mirrors are another prominent feature, designed to greatly enhance aerodynamics. Additionally, the stylish roof visor includes integrated LED strips positioned above the glass area.
It is reasonable to expect a revamped dashboard and an upgraded cabin layout with more advanced tech features in the new truck. Moreover, the Xcient will likely be equipped with advanced autonomous driving systems, making the lives of truck drivers easier.
The existing Xcient lineup offers various configurations, including Tractor, Cargo, Dump, and Mixer, with options for standard, high, or sleeper cabs, and wheel configurations ranging from 4×2 to 8×4. So regardless of your preferences for a semi-truck, Hyundai appears to have options for you.
Currently, the semi-truck is available with diesel engines, but Hyundai has also developed a zero-emission variant equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell system, providing a range of up to 400 km (249 miles). Engine options range from 10 liters to 12.7 liters, generating between 335-513 hp (340-520 PS) and delivering 1,373-2,500 Nm (1,013-1,844 lb-ft) of torque.
Below, you can find images of the current Hyundai Xcient in various configurations.
