An ultra-rare 2017 Viper ACR Extreme has reappeared, showing a mere 8 miles on the odometer.
Originally priced at $180,430, it features a unique combination of rare options.
It is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine delivering 645 horsepower, which has remained inactive for nearly a decade.
If you’ve been hoping for a significant Viper resurgence, you may want to temper your expectations alongside your vintage Dodge collectibles. However, if you're in the market for a virtually brand-new V10 powerhouse to add to your garage or weekend collection, a remarkable find awaits you in Pennsylvania.
A local dealership is offering an ultra-rare 2017 Dodge Viper GTC ACR Extreme, with just eight miles on the odometer—not eight hundred, but eight. This vehicle is also loaded with almost every option one could desire from the last and most extreme versions of the Viper.
In simpler terms, the ACR Extreme is a Viper equipped with a standard cabin plus the ACR package, allowing for extensive customization. The original owner certainly took advantage of this feature.
This muscle car once held the distinction of the fastest American supercar around the Nürburgring, a title now claimed by the newer Corvette Z06 and Mustang GTD. Dressed in Stryker Orange, it features 19-inch ACR wheels, Brembo brakes, and a carbon fiber rear wing with an exposed weave.
Track Credentials and Carbon Overload
A $5,100 carbon fiber package adds additional aerodynamic enhancements to the already aggressive body, enhancing its visual appeal. However, as always with the Viper, what lies beneath the surface is what truly matters.
Under the hood is an 8.4-liter V10 that delivered 645 horsepower (480 kW) and 600 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque from the factory. After years of inactivity with fluids left stagnant and seals unused since the Obama era, it remains uncertain how it performs today.
The excitement doesn’t end there. A manual transmission is featured in a unique way within the cabin. The upholstery is what Dodge referred to as Demonic Red at the time. An Alcantara headliner graces the space above both seats, which are upholstered in Laguna leather. Demonic Red seat belts ensure that everyone is securely in place. It’s an impressive package deserving of accolades, particularly with an original MSRP of $180,430.
According to the seller, this was the highest price ever assigned to a Viper. The vehicle is listed by JFK Auto, though they haven't disclosed the current asking price; you’ll need to reach out to them directly for details.
More Where That Came From
That being said, the same dealer has multiple Vipers of this caliber, which should give you a general idea of what they may charge for the 8-mile vehicle mentioned. Another option, with 371 miles, is listed for the same price. Additionally, there’s an ACR Extreme with 299 miles available at an even higher price point of $499,000. If you miss out on one, there are a few others that were purchased years ago and have basically remained untouched for nearly a decade.
