As the camouflage begins to peel away, it appears that the GV90 may not make its debut until next summer.
The GV90 is progressing towards production, as a lightly camouflaged prototype has been spotted.
Drawing inspiration from the Neolun concept, it features sleek styling and a design reminiscent of a minivan.
Genesis is suggesting a launch in 2026, though potential delays could push the arrival of this luxury model even further back.
The Genesis GV90 is nearing the final stage of development and the heavy camouflage has been removed, offering a clearer view of the upcoming electric vehicle, which seems to resemble a minivan more than a luxury SUV.
Previewed by the Neolun concept, the production version showcases an upright front end with a prominent lower intake. This lower intake appears to be split into two sections, each displaying a slightly different mesh design, positioned beneath the signature "two-line" headlights and what seems to be a V-shaped accent.
In profile, the GV90 has the appearance of a contemporary Dodge Grand Caravan set on oversized wheels. While this may not be ideal for a luxury brand, the crossover does feature a sloping windscreen that leads into a long, tapered roof. Additionally, there’s a nearly horizontal beltline and a spacious greenhouse, complemented by flush door handles, front fender lights, and curvy body contours.
The sleek design continues at the rear with a rounded liftgate that forgoes a spoiler. The designers have incorporated full-width taillights and a minimalist bumper that includes a large recess for the license plate.
The interior of the Genesis is concealed in black and white camouflage, making it difficult to discern what can be expected. However, it is anticipated to include a widescreen infotainment system along with numerous high-end features. Previous spy images have indicated the presence of a second-row center console with an integrated display, as well as a wireless smartphone charger.
Genesis has remained tight-lipped concerning the GV90, but recent speculation suggests the launch has been postponed until the summer of 2026. Whether this timeline holds true is uncertain, but the crossover might be built on the new eM platform, expected to be an evolution of the existing E-GMP architecture.
Little information is available about the model, but it is likely to be more advanced than the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. The latter has a starting price of $58,955 and comes with a 110.3 kWh battery pack, alongside three distinct powertrains. The rear-wheel drive variant delivers 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS), while the most powerful all-wheel drive version produces 422 hp (315 kW / 428 PS). Drivers can also look forward to range estimates between 311 and 335 miles (501 and 539 km).
