Only a few Reventon Roadsters were created, all in Grigio Reventon.

Lamborghini originally set the price for the Murcielago-based special at $2.1 million.

The auction house anticipates this vehicle will fetch between $1.45 million and $1.8 million.

Lamborghini has a strong track record of transforming its standard production models into exorbitantly priced, limited-edition rarities that lead one to wonder if they come with gold flakes. Over time, the Italian manufacturer has introduced several of these exclusive creations, including the Sian, Centenario, SC20, and Veneno.

However, if we look back to the 2000s, one particular model stands out as a prime example of Lamborghini’s flair for the dramatic: the Reventon and its Roadster counterpart.

Production of the Coupe was limited to just 20 units, with an additional 15 Reventon Roadsters produced. Given such a restricted production run, it’s not common to see these vehicles on the streets or at local car auctions. But if you’re interested in acquiring one, RM Sotheby’s will be auctioning one of these rare Roadsters in Milan next month, with an estimated price range of $1.45 million to $1.8 million.

Developed on the Lamborghini Murcielago platform, the Reventon Roadster is equipped with the same 6.5-liter V12 engine as the LP 670-4 SV. It is painted in the distinctive Grigio Reventon shade, like all other examples, giving it a futuristic, military stealth appearance. This particular car was delivered to its first owner in Switzerland in July 2010 and later changed ownership in 2018, moving to Germany.

The Reventon’s exterior design draws inspiration from the F-22 Raptor, making even the Murcielago appear somewhat ordinary. There are no reports of damage on this specific vehicle, and it retains its wild look from when it first left the factory. The interior is pristine, featuring black leather and light grey Alcantara seats, along with a lot of exposed carbon fiber.

You might assume that with its rarity and striking design, the Reventon Roadster would be commanding high prices at auctions, but it has not significantly increased in value. In 2010, a new model started at approximately $2.1 million. Fast forward to today, and this particular car might sell for nearly $650,000 less than the initial price.

Despite only having 4,102 km (2,548 miles) on the odometer and being one of Lamborghini’s most iconic limited-run models, the Reventon’s value hasn’t soared as expected.

Nonetheless, for anyone with money to spend, acquiring one of these rare Roadsters could still be worthwhile for the bragging rights it provides. You can view the listing here.
