The Callum Design studio has introduced a remarkable, updated version of the Jaguar E-Type.

Modifications include LED lighting, the removal of bumpers, flush door handles, and new technology inside.

The project is showcased in renderings, illustrating possibilities for future clients.

Although Jaguar's recent attempts to re-envision what an icon can be have drawn mixed reactions, the classic E-Type is consistently celebrated as one of the most beautiful production cars ever made. Over time, it has inspired numerous restomods and continuation projects. Now, former Jaguar design leader Ian Callum has honored this British classic with an updated version that is hard to overlook.

Unveiled on social media as the Callum Portfolio project of the month, this sleek reinterpretation of the E-Type currently exists only digitally. However, if you have the funds and find the project appealing, they will gladly create one just for you. So, you don’t need to merely fantasize about owning this beauty; just ensure you have the finances to support it.

      Maintaining the Iconic Silhouette

While the redesign clearly honors its heritage, the modernized E-Type features some subtle updates. The iconic long hood and elegant curves stay intact, but the steel bumpers have been replaced with a more streamlined, minimalist appearance, akin to the E-Type Lightweight. The door handles have been refined, now lying flush with the body to enhance the sleek, contemporary finish.

Moreover, the headlights and taillights have been upgraded to LED technology, preserving their classic shape. At the rear, the taillights are positioned lower, while the dual tailpipes have been enlarged for a sportier aesthetic.

The alloy wheels are another eye-catching feature. Drawing inspiration from the classic wire wheel design, they have been updated with a larger diameter and paired with modern performance tires. A lowered suspension further enhances both the car's appearance and handling.

A Seamless Fusion of Old and New Inside

Inside, the cabin combines retro appeal with modern technology. A transparent center module features digital gauges and touch-sensitive media controls, while the analog dials and original toggle switches remain. The seats are covered in red leather, matching the fabric retractable roof. A wooden steering wheel, manual gear shifter, and subtle aluminum accents are also present.

Callum has kept the technical specifications confidential, but it is evident that this restomod was intended for a combustion engine and manual transmission. If we had to speculate, a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 from the now-defunct F-Type, coupled with modern suspension and chassis upgrades, would be an ideal fit for this revamped E-Type. A true delight, if you ask us.

This isn't the first instance of Callum revisiting a classic British icon. The studio has also produced the Aston Martin Vanquish 25 restomod and street-legal versions of the Jaguar C-X75 supercar with various upgrades. More recently, Callum introduced its first standalone project – a high-performance multi-terrain vehicle known as the Skye EV.
