Texas Driver Creates Mayhem With Rebar Hanging Out Of The Window | Carscoops

      The rebar hits the side mirrors of a Ford F-Series and a Chevrolet van, sending bits of plastic flying.

      The sun's glare may have blinded some drivers, leaving them unaware of the hazard.

      Strange incidents occur on the road frequently, but the Cadillac driver in this instance might just stand out as exhibiting one of the most absurdly reckless actions we've witnessed in years. A brief clip recently appeared on Reddit, and while the driver likely thought they were enjoying a simple drive, the online community quickly threw a deserved barrage of criticism their way.

      

      

      The video, recorded somewhere in Texas, depicts a Cadillac traveling along a two-lane road. At first glance, everything seems normal, even uneventful. However, upon closer inspection, one might notice something that resembles a scene from a "what not to do" guide: two pieces of steel rebar protruding from the rear window.

      As the Cadillac driver approaches a bridge underpass, the two pieces of rebar strike the wing mirror of a Ford F-Series coming from the opposite direction, sending fragments of plastic into the air. Shortly after, the rebar breaks the wing mirror of a white Chevrolet van as well.

      Although the rebar is easily visible from behind the Cadillac, it doesn't seem that the drivers traveling in the opposite direction were able to see it. This might be due to their direct confrontation with the setting sun, as the Ford driver has the sun visor lowered, and the Chevy driver is seen shielding their eyes with their hand.

      After impacting the Chevy, a Ford Mustang nearly collides with the rebar, with its driver appearing to notice it just in time, instinctively turning his head to the right to evade contact.

      To add to the chaos, the Cadillac driver nearly crashes into some roadworks in the lane, demonstrating just how little attention they were giving to the road. Meanwhile, a black BMW 5-Series also seems to be struck by the rebar.

      Throughout the incident, the Cadillac’s license plate is clearly visible, indicating that someone will report this reckless driving, prompting authorities to pay a visit to this "creative" road user.

      Let’s hope this marks the last time we see rebar peeking out of a car window.
