If you have 6 minutes and 52.072 seconds to spare and appreciate the roar of a $325,000 pony car (or supercharged V8s in general), then Ford has just released a video that will delight your ears.
As you might know, the Blue Oval returned to the Nürburgring Nordschleife with its beastly Mustang, the GTD. The outcome was another lap time under seven minutes, improved by more than five seconds since the team’s previous attempt. Now, you can experience a cockpit view of the record-setting lap yourself.
While your preferred audio system may not replicate the claimed 815 horsepower of the Mustang GTD’s engine, you’ll still get the idea. It’s a loud and thrilling experience, as professional driver Dirk Müller takes on the challenging circuit at a brisk pace.
The Mustang GTD, which is set to enter production soon, stands as one of the most powerful street-legal cars available. Though there are faster production vehicles, the GTD's performance rivals other six-figure supercars that have conquered the ‘Ring, and it outpaces any American car on the track.
With a top speed of 202 mph, it certainly provides more excitement than cycling around the legendary circuit.
