For those who aren't car aficionados, this replica could easily be mistaken for an authentic Ford Mustang, particularly its front end, which might even deceive a discerning observer.
It seems that the original 2.7-liter naturally aspirated V6 of the Tiburon has been preserved.
Conversely, every body panel of the Hyundai has been replaced.
Some of the most fascinating car builds originate from models that may not have been in high demand. When compared to Hyundai's current sporty lineup, the older Tiburon feels somewhat lethargic and unremarkable. However, over time, this spirited sports coupe has found a unique position as a foundation for some surprising replicas.
Not long ago, we encountered one modified into a classic Toyota Celica rally car, and in 2019, another was transformed into a quirky Bugatti Chiron imitation.
This time, we have discovered a Tiburon that has been altered to look like a fifth-generation Ford Mustang. This particular replica has been around for several years and appears to have been constructed in Europe, more specifically in Spain, as indicated by the license plates.
Details about the vehicle's transformation are scarce, but it's evident that the project’s creator put in substantial time and effort to achieve a convincing appearance. To their credit, they succeeded quite well under the circumstances.
However, due to the Tiburon's proportions not perfectly matching those of the Mustang, the differences become apparent if you know what to look for. These discrepancies are most evident at the rear, where the overhang is slightly shorter than that of a genuine Mustang, and the tailgate shape is somewhat inaccurate.
Nonetheless, all of the Tiburon's original exterior body panels appear to have been swapped out, and it now features a custom front end with a blacked-out grille, Mustang-inspired headlights, and additional spotlights. The vehicle has also been painted in a new silver hue with black racing stripes and has similarly flared wheel arches and eye-catching front quarter panels.
The Mustang influences extend along the sides of the vehicle with new five-spoke wheels, Mustang branding on the door sills, and matching flared arches at the rear.
There is no information regarding any performance enhancements made by the builder, but it's thought that this replica initially started as a 2.7-liter V6 Tiburon, which produced 172 horsepower. While this is not particularly impressive, it seems like a reasonable option for a daily driver—and likely sounds better than a four-cylinder.
