TOM's Racing Created a Sporty Land Cruiser for Those Who Steer Clear of Mud | Carscoops

      The revised off-road vehicle features updated bumpers and enhanced wheel arches, along with a set of upgraded 20-inch wheels equipped with new tires. TOM’s Racing also provides customers with a new stainless steel exhaust system.

      TOM’s Racing is renowned for modifying and enhancing some of the best Japanese sports cars, and it also excels in customizing SUVs and off-road vehicles. Their latest endeavor centers on the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, also referred to as the 250, transforming it into an eye-catching Urban Off-Roader.

      Now, regarding the Land Cruiser itself, while it’s certainly well-equipped for challenging off-road conditions, many of these vehicles often spend more time on city roads than on rough trails. True to TOM’s Racing style, they have fitted a new front bumper that appears more aggressive but likely reduces the approach angle slightly—though this won’t concern anyone not intending to conquer rocky terrains.

      The new bumper hangs lower than the standard one, giving the Land Cruiser a more formidable appearance. The Japanese tuning company has also added new side steps and complemented them with flared front and rear wheel arches that accommodate wider aftermarket 20-inch wheels and tires.

      In addition to the bodywork modifications, there is an optional stainless steel exhaust system available. Customers can also opt for performance-oriented brake pads, various TOM’s Racing badges, and floor mats. While most TOM’s Racing parts are available for all versions of the Land Cruiser, they are unlikely to be sold outside of Japan.

      Nonetheless, other brands, including Toyota’s Modellista, offer accessories for the Prado. Their approach is somewhat more subdued compared to TOM’s Racing, featuring an upgraded front bumper guard, rear bumper garnish, flared fenders, side moldings, a rear bumper step guard, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a prominent roof spoiler.
