Someone Purchased a Slightly Used 717 hp Challenger Jailbreak for $17K Below MSRP | Carscoops
It appears that current owners of the Challenger are starting to consider more reasonable offers from potential buyers.
Recently, a Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak was sold for $64,500, despite its original MSRP of $81,558. This model features a powerful supercharged V8 engine that produces 717 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque and has only 986 miles on it, showcased in Pitch Black with matching wheels.
As the enthusiasm for muscle cars diminishes and Dodge has discontinued its iconic two-door model, some buyers are experiencing unexpected bargains on what were anticipated to be collectible, limited-edition vehicles. Earlier this month, a limited-edition Challenger R/T Scat Pack ‘Last Call’ sold for $63,888, nearly $6,000 below its initial MSRP.
Now, another of these so-called ‘special’ Last Call models has been sold for well below its sticker price, not to mention any additional amount the original buyer may have paid in dealer markups.
This particular Challenger Last Call is a sought-after Hellcat Jailbreak model with only 986 miles. Being a Jailbreak edition, it boasts Dodge's renowned 6.2-liter supercharged V8, a six-speed manual transmission, and a limited-slip differential, making it a formidable vehicle. The buyer received an excellent deal.
Looking at the window sticker, this Hellcat had an MSRP of $81,558 but was sold for $64,500. The specifications are quite understated, featuring a Pitch Black exterior and 20-inch matching wheels. The exterior shows no hint of color as even the brake calipers are painted black. The Bring a Trailer listing notes that the exterior has been protected with PPF, so the new owner shouldn't worry about minor scratches or stone chips.
Inside the Dodge, there are heated and ventilated front seats wrapped in black Laguna leather with embossed Hellcat logos. It also features Demonic Red seatbelts and a Harman Kardon sound system.
With 717 hp and 656 lb-ft of torque, the Challenger Hellcat Jailbreak is truly a beast. However, it's not for the faint-hearted, and anyone interested in a V8 Challenger should be mindful of their driving skills and know their limits. Otherwise, they risk a serious accident, which has occurred numerous times in the past.
That said, now might be an opportune time to shop. With Dodge discontinuing the Challenger in favor of electric and six-cylinder-powered Chargers, the prices of these outgoing models may continue to decline, at least temporarily.
