Many automotive enthusiasts often complain that electric vehicles lack "soul," primarily because they don't have an engine generating thousands of tiny explosions every minute. Additionally, they don’t require an exhaust system since there are no emissions to release. However, one individual is attempting to change that, sort of. He has developed an exhaust system specifically for the Tesla Model Y. And no, it’s not what you might think.
Instead of emitting smoke, soot, or harmful gases, this exhaust system allows the Model Y to release nothing but bubbles. It’s quirky and entertaining, and it could be a fantastic way for the Tesla to display a bit of character. The best part? It appears that other owners might also be able to participate.
A video demonstrating the bubble exhaust was initially posted on Reddit and garnered significant attention from Model Y enthusiasts looking for something similar. The inventor of the kit has since created a listing on Facebook Marketplace, offering the bubble exhaust for $700, installation included.
The listing explains that the kit features a small reservoir in the trunk, which is filled with bubble solution. The system is activated using a wireless remote, releasing bubbles from two silver tailpipes attached to the rear bumper. Its creator has mentioned that the idea was inspired by his son, and leveraging his engineering expertise, he set out to make it happen.
The bubble exhaust kit can be purchased and installed in Weston, Massachusetts, which is a short trip from Boston. However, in a Reddit comment, a neighbor of the kit's creator indicated that additional units will be produced soon, with plans to ship them to customers throughout the contiguous United States.
