A dealer in Minnesota claims that the Bentley dealership cashed its check even though the Ferrari Roma did not arrive as expected.

A fraudulent transporter pretending to be a shipping company stole the Ferrari Roma during its delivery.

Neither the dealership nor the shipping broker confirmed the identity or credentials of the carrier.

There is an increasing trend of vehicles being stolen during transportation across the United States.

A missing Ferrari, a lawsuit from a dealership, and a transport company caught in the crossfire illustrate the complex situation in high-end car logistics. A Minnesota dealership is suing Bentley Denver and an auto transport company following the mysterious disappearance of the Ferrari Roma it had purchased.

According to the lawsuit, a fake carrier was sent to transport the Roma, and now both the Bentley dealer and Angels Moving Autos may be required to return the full purchase price of the vehicle, as well as any lost profits from a potential resale.

This incident is becoming more common in the U.S., where a Ferrari was bought from a dealership but never reached its designated location. Twin Cities Performance, located in Golden Valley, Minnesota, allegedly purchased the $218,000 Roma from Bentley Denver in November 2024 and arranged for Angels Moving Autos from California to handle its transport.

However, as per the lawsuit reviewed by Auto News, Angels Moving Autos reportedly contracted a fake carrier through the online service Central Dispatch to transport the Roma. This bogus carrier, calling itself KT Logistics, picked up the vehicle, but neither Bentley Denver nor Angels Moving Autos validated the carrier's authenticity. They also neglected to request a bill of lading or verify the driver's credentials.

The shipping company seemed to be masquerading as KT Logistics LLC, which typically handles dry freight but not vehicle transport. After the Roma did not arrive, Twin Cities Performance notified Colorado police about the theft, while KT Logistics LLC reported the fraud to Central Dispatch.

Claims of Negligence and Civil Theft

The lawsuit also accuses Bentley Denver of disregarding a request from Twin Cities Performance to refrain from cashing the check for the Roma's purchase. Both Bentley Denver and Angels Moving Autos are facing allegations of negligence and civil theft. Moreover, the suit reportedly includes claims against Angels Moving Autos for breaching a vendor agreement and an unjust enrichment claim against Bentley Denver.

Twin Cities Performance is not only pursuing a refund for the purchase price of the Roma and profits from its resale but is also seeking compensation for loss in sales growth and the crucial but harder to quantify loss of customer trust.
