Reasons I Store Three Different WD-40 Products in Various Places Around My Home
This post is sponsored by WD-40® Brand.
The Classic WD-40 Product serves as a multifunctional tool for general DIY tasks, such as displacing moisture, reducing squeaks, preventing corrosion, and lubricating. While the formula has remained the same, the WD-40 Multi-Use Product now features enhanced delivery systems that go beyond the traditional cans and red straw. Introducing the compact Precision Pen, the flexible EZ-REACH straw, and the high-volume Big Blast nozzle.

WD-40 Brand has also expanded its range of products. Sprays like WD-40 Specialist® Gel Lube are ideal for situations requiring long-lasting lubrication for metal and machinery. My go-to for treating rusty bolts before using a socket is the quick-acting WD-40 Specialist Penetrant. The Specialist line offers a variety of job-specific formulations for nearly every lubrication need.
However, for everyday utility and swift fixes, the Classic WD-40 Product remains unmatched. That’s why different distribution systems can be found throughout my home and garage.
WD-40 Precision Pen
I have a small cup by my bedside that holds my everyday carry items: a compact box cutter, a black permanent marker, a mini flashlight, and a WD-40 Precision Pen.

To be honest, there’s nothing I carry daily—I don’t even leave my house every day. But when I do dress up, I’m well-equipped for tasks like opening packages, marking items, illuminating dark areas, and dispensing small amounts of the WD-40 Multi-Use Product.
While my box cutter may seem weak next to the Daniel Boone-style hunting knives on my neighbors' belts while we wait to buy frozen pizza at the gas station, I’m not in the wild these days; I primarily open cardboard boxes rather than hunt.

Regardless, the Precision Pen is small yet powerful. It resembles a tool for removing coffee stains from ties but effectively dispenses precise amounts of the Classic WD-40 Product with ease.
Last year, I successfully used one to remove duct tape residue from my Honda Civic’s fender. It’s excellent for eliminating minor corrosion, residue, or discoloration from metal and glass. I also find myself reaching for the Precision Pen when extracting a dirty old bolt (it’s fantastic for cleaning threads) or when using tools left out by my father-in-law. A small dab on a metal contact point can quickly free something.

The Precision Pen may not resolve all issues, but it’s incredibly satisfying to use when you encounter something needing a little lubrication while out and about.
WD-40 EZ-Reach
WD-40 EZ-REACH features a flexible 8-inch straw and is one of my favorite inventions. Instead of a flimsy red straw that can easily get lost in dark corners of your crawlspace, the EZ-REACH straw is both flexible and sturdy.

You can bend it however you like, and importantly, it retains its shape while you point and spray. It’s indispensable for navigating around hoses and hangers in a car's engine bay or under the chassis. Whenever you need to apply the Classic WD-40 Product to a hard-to-reach area or a spot where a full can won’t fit, I suggest using EZ-REACH.

Like many hobbyists, I always keep the Classic WD-40 Product with my other garage chemicals on a shelf near the door. With my personal collection of old cars and my father-in-law’s small farm next door, I often find myself extracting moisture from engine bays exposed to the elements or removing sap stains from vehicle bodies—both excellent uses for the Classic WD-40 Product.
WD-40 Big Blast
If you require even more coverage to spray larger items, the WD-40 Big Blast product has you covered. It’s the classic formula with a wide-area spray nozzle designed to quickly and efficiently distribute the product over large spaces.
While the Precision Pen is perfect for indoor use, and EZ-REACH excels in hard-to-reach areas, a can with the Big Blast nozzle is ideal for larger jobs, outdoor projects, and especially for any big metal tools requiring work.

The Classic WD-40 Product works wonders for removing heavy dirt from shovels and other earth-moving tools. It also prevents rust and helps mud and muck wash off metal surfaces with ease during your next use. It can also dislodge grass from clogged mower blades.
