Every creation in the Black Series lineup is remarkable, and this one might be the most outrageous of all.

The SL65 AMG Black Series boasts a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 661 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.

This powerful V12 is paired with a five-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels.

Recently, the SL65 underwent a thorough paint correction and had its interior meticulously detailed.

While the Mercedes-AMG One may be the most technologically advanced road car to emerge from Stuttgart, there's a strong case to be made that the SL65 AMG Black Series offers more visual excitement in a much simpler design. Before hybrid engines and carbon monocoques became prominent, this was AMG at its most raw and unrefined. Today, an exceptionally low-mileage example is available for auction and remains just as formidable as it was upon its initial release.

Only 350 units of the SL65 Black Series were produced, with just 175 of those reaching the U.S. market. It is powered by a formidable 6.0-liter twin-turbocharged V12, generating 661 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. Imagine how epic it could have been with a manual transmission, but unfortunately, it only came with a five-speed automatic.

      Wider, Lower, More Aggressive

There is no mistaking the SL65 Black Series for a standard SL from this era. Mercedes-AMG's designers have increased the front track by 4.5 inches and the rear track by 4.1 inches, featuring stunning flared arches. The front and rear fascias have been enhanced to give the SL a much more aggressive appearance, complemented by distinctive 20- and 21-inch wheels.

According to the Bring a Trailer listing, this particular vehicle recently underwent a three-stage paint correction to prepare it for sale, resulting in a flawless finish. With only 13,000 miles (approximately 20,900 kilometers) on the odometer, it comes with a clean Carfax report and a clear New Jersey title, making it as pristine as can be for a car of this caliber.

Inside the cabin of this ultimate SL, you'll find several carbon fiber accents, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and black leather seats with contrasting white stitching. The seller recently invested $3,045 to refurbish and clear coat the carbon fiber ashtray, and an additional $1,880 to have a new 'G' from AMG crafted from aluminum to place on the ashtray. Moreover, $2,213 was spent on refurbishing the shift knob, which now features the logo reading 'USA One of 175.'

This SL65 Black Series may be approaching two decades in age, but it still commands attention and makes a strong statement. It's fast, loud, and remains rare enough to catch the eye of even the most seasoned car enthusiasts. You can view the complete listing and place your bid over at Bring a Trailer. Good luck!
