It appears that limited-run super estates like the RS6 Avant GT can increase in value comparable to rare sports cars.

The German wagon features a color scheme inspired by the Audi 90 Quattro IMSA racer. Enhancements to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine boost its output to 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. The limited-edition RS6 Avant is priced over $70,000 higher than the standard RS6.

The Audi RS6 Avant has long been regarded as one of the top performance wagons globally, combining family-friendly practicality with significant power. Thus, when Audi introduced it to the U.S. market in 2020, American fans were understandably thrilled.

While the standard RS6 is already formidable, Audi felt it could be even more thrilling, leading to the creation of the Performance GT featured here. This limited edition variant takes the performance to new heights, with only 85 units made available in the United States, making it one of the most exclusive Audi wagons ever offered in the country.

Inspired by the iconic Audi 90 Quattro IMSA GTO race car, the RS6 Avant GT embraces nostalgia wholeheartedly. Priced at a staggering $198,900, this model is over $70,000 more than the base RS6, yet demand remains strong. Clearly, exclusivity and retro-themed designs are still very much in vogue.

One of these exceptionally rare cars in the U.S., with only 31 miles on the odometer, recently sold for $256,000. It was auctioned via Bring a Trailer and sold by Graham Rahal Performance, a dealership owned by IndyCar driver Graham Rahal. Its original sticker price was $201,750, meaning the seller profited $55,000 on this delivery mileage collector's item.

While the eye-catching retro-inspired livery is the most striking feature, the RS6 GT’s enhancements extend beyond visual appeal. It comes equipped with custom 22-inch white wheels that reduce unsprung weight by 88 pounds (40 kg). Additionally, Audi has incorporated new carbon fiber fenders and a redesigned hood, distinguishing this version from the impressive base model.

Audi’s engineers have made significant improvements to the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, raising the power to 621 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque—gains of 30 hp and 37 lb-ft compared to the standard RS6. This translates to a 0–60 mph (96 km/h) time of just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph (306 km/h). In summary, this is not only a more attractive RS6 but also a faster and more dynamic version of an already exceptional car.
