Toyota's revised mid-size pickup has become the company's third best-selling vehicle.

The truck's sales soared by 188.2% in March, leading to a significant increase in demand.

Meanwhile, the Crown lineup is facing challenges, with the sedan experiencing a 66.8% decline, and the Signia is off to a sluggish start.

Sales of the RAV4 decreased by 8.4%, although a newly redesigned model has recently been spotted in testing.

The revamped Toyota Tacoma has achieved remarkable success, with sales rising dramatically by 188.2% in March, totaling 23,949 units. Furthermore, Tacoma sales have increased 177.5% in the first quarter of the year.

Notably, the Tacoma's impressive performance positioned it as Toyota's third best-selling vehicle last month, trailing only behind the RAV4 (41,509) and Camry (29,661). Interestingly, the mid-size pickup even surpassed the popular Corolla (21,495), which starts at $22,325.

In terms of sedans, Toyota faced unfortunate trends as the Camry, Corolla, Crown, and Mirai all experienced sales declines. Notably, the Crown's sales dropped by 66.8%, and there were no purchases of the Mirai last month.

While the Subaru BRZ saw an increase in sales, Toyota's GR86 fell 16% to 1,146 units. The Supra also decreased by 11.4%, with just 179 units sold. The sole bright spot in the car segment was the Prius, which enjoyed a 77.4% sales boost.

On the SUV front, the bZ4X's price reduction seems to have positively influenced sales, with a 102.9% increase to 1,678 units. The budget-friendly Corolla Cross saw a 39.8% rise, while the Highlander experienced a drop of 52.1%.

Though it may be premature to draw conclusions from 4Runner sales, the Land Cruiser sold 5,860 units in March, which is a positive sign. However, the Crown Signia is underperforming compared to the numbers previously generated by the Venza. On a positive note for family vehicles, the Sienna's sales jumped 73.5%, with 9,033 minivans finding new owners last month.

In total, Toyota sold 196,240 vehicles in March, reflecting a 6.6% increase compared to last year. However, the company saw a minimal rise of 0.1% for the quarter, totaling 487,226 units.
