Nissan Understands Market Trends, Reduces 2025 Rogue and Pathfinder Prices as Tariffs Increase Competitors' Costs | Carscoops

Any price reduction is welcomed in a market where MSRPs typically only increase.

Nissan has reduced MSRPs for the 2025 Rogue and Pathfinder by as much as $1,930 per model.

The Rogue now starts at $28,590, while the Pathfinder's base price has decreased to $36,400 before additional fees.

These price cuts stand out against the industry's trend, as most automakers are anticipated to increase prices.

With tariffs dominating the conversation this month, car buyers are preparing for the consequences. The Trump administration's initiative to boost American manufacturing by imposing higher costs on imported vehicles and parts, starting on April 2, makes it a challenging time to be in the market for a new car. While several manufacturers, from Subaru to Ferrari, have hinted at price increases, Nissan is choosing a different path by actually lowering prices on two of its top-selling vehicles: the Rogue and the Pathfinder.

In what seems like a rare moment of optimism from a company still recovering from financial issues, Nissan has announced price reductions on both models across all trim levels.

For the compact Rogue, price reductions span from $640 to $1,930 depending on the trim level. The entry-level S FWD now begins at $28,590, and the high-end Platinum AWD is priced at $39,990. All Rogue variants are equipped with the same powertrain: a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine producing 201 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque, combined with a CVT.

The midsize Pathfinder also sees similar price reductions, with MSRPs lowered by $670 to $1,170 depending on the trim. It now starts at $36,400 for the base S 2WD and can go up to $50,640 for the fully equipped Platinum 4WD. Unlike the Rogue, the Pathfinder features a 3.5-liter naturally aspirated V6 engine that delivers 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Both SUVs include a destination and handling fee of $1,390, which remains unchanged. Although these price drops may not significantly impact overall costs or monthly payments, any discount is seen as a positive in a market where prices usually continue to rise.
