Bertone’s Aston Martin Rapide Jet 2+2 Shooting Brake is a one-off custom designed for a car enthusiast.
Maintaining the original 6.0-liter V12, this vehicle generates 476 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque.
This distinctive Aston Martin has 24,169 miles on the clock and is going to auction without a reserve price.
A year before Bertone declared bankruptcy (only to be revived in 2022), the iconic design firm transformed the Aston Martin Rapide into a Shooting Brake. This one-off model, named the Jet 2+2, was introduced at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. As impressive as it was, only one example was ever produced, and that same wagon is now set to be auctioned.
The long-roof version of the Rapide was created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the collaboration between Aston Martin and Bertone. It drew inspiration from the two-door Jet 2 concept that the brands developed in 2004, commissioned by Aston Martin collector Barry Weir. Shortly after its reveal, the British manufacturer approved its production, intending for Bertone to create nine additional units. However, the company collapsed before that could be realized.
In modifying the Rapide into a Shooting Brake, Bertone’s designers elongated the roof and made necessary alterations to the rear, all while adhering to the original design. The model features new taillights with a light bar and an electrochromatic panoramic glass roof. Moreover, the rear seats are electronically foldable, and the interior is finished in a blend of Cream Truffle and Obsidian Black leather.
Just like the regular Rapide, Bertone’s Jet 2+2 Shooting Brake preserves the factory 6.0-liter naturally aspirated V12, offering 476 hp and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. This enables a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 5.3 seconds.
Dore & Rees is managing the auction and notes that this one-off has covered 24,169 miles (38,896 km). The listing does not disclose details regarding the vehicle’s ownership history. However, it was advertised by a British dealership in 2020 and reportedly had 10,000 miles at that time.
For those eager to own a piece of Aston Martin and Bertone heritage, the Jet 2+2 is now available for bids through Dore & Rees. You can view the listing and place your bid on their website.
