Hyundai is hinting at something new, likely a concept vehicle.
It appears to center around expressing emotions using 8-bit emojis.
A high-performance vehicle is highly probable to be part of the reveal.
Hyundai is captivating us with a series of new images. These could indicate almost any automotive product, but we suspect this is a new concept. Let’s take a moment to brainstorm our theories together.
The Korean automaker shared an Instagram post today featuring a set of very ambiguous graphics. It highlights a Ghost-style graphic that seems inspired by 80s-style 8-bit imagery. The photos showcase the graphic in various styles on several parts of the object in question.

There appears to be a racing-style steering wheel, a racing harness, and possibly some form of exhaust or wing in the images. The post containing the images and video simply states, “Feeling like you could use a #boost? Something exciting is fast approaching. Stay tuned to see what’s coming. ⚡🔜” Thus, we receive emojis indicating electrification and something soon to arrive.
However, there's more than just simple graphics to guide us. Hyundai or at least, a member of its team, shared a few details online. The Head of Hyundai Design, Simon Loasby, mentioned on LinkedIn, “Can a brand make you smile…? For that, the right character and charisma are essential… our European team has done a fantastic job in creating this soon-to-be-revealed Hyundai ‘with a mood…’”
He later continued, “So much credit goes to our European design team for their enthusiasm and expertise… crafting a Hyundai with a big mood… more details will follow…” This suggests a connection to emotion. Undoubtedly, performance cars tend to evoke feelings in ways that many vehicles do not.
We anticipate Hyundai to officially announce whatever this is between April 3-13 at the Seoul Mobility Show, where the automaker serves as a title sponsor. What do you think all of this indicates? Share your thoughts in the comments below, and I’ll join you in trying to decipher this before Hyundai's official announcement. I hope it’s a production version of the RN24. Simplify it, price it like an Ioniq 5 N, and I guarantee I’ll purchase one. Are you listening, Hyundai?
