2026 Corvette Refresh: Farewell to the Button-Laden Dashboard, Welcome to an Updated Interior | Carscoops

The updated Corvette C8, anticipated to debut later this year, will showcase a more spacious and open interior.

Recently, spy photographers have spotted prototypes of the Corvette C8 featuring a revised interior.

The new model moves away from the controversial "wall of buttons" and introduces a new dashboard design. Additionally, a group of Zora prototypes has been seen, potentially boasting over 1,200 hp.

President Reagan famously urged Mikhail Gorbachev to "tear down this wall," and it seems the Corvette C8 team has finally taken that to heart. As seen today, spy photographers have captured images of the car’s updated interior, which abandons the divisive ‘wall of buttons’.

The much-debated feature has drawn intense reactions since we first revealed the C8’s interior back in 2019, with some fans disbelieving that such a "wall" would appear in the final production version.

Fast forward to now, and it looks like critics will see their wishes granted, as prototypes have been spotted without the large divider. Though the entire interior isn’t visible, the car showcases a redesigned dashboard that integrates with the infotainment system. The absence of the wall of buttons suggests that physical climate and seat controls may be eliminated, something feasible since the infotainment system could render them unnecessary.

Speaking of the infotainment system, it appears to be roughly the same size as the previous version. If that’s accurate, it could be disappointing, as the current model features an 8-inch display, which feels somewhat limited.

Reflections in the photos hinder the ability to discern additional changes, but it seems some of the controls may have been updated or repositioned. Besides that, a familiar steering wheel and digital instrument cluster are visible.

In addition to the interior shots, spy photographers captured two distinct groups of prototypes. The most notable includes a set of Zora coupes spotted in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

These models appear to have an appropriately aggressive look, likely featuring a version of the ZR1’s ZTK performance package, which includes front dive planes, a hood-mounted Gurney lip, and an impressive rear wing. There’s also a flow-through hood, lightweight wheels, and a recognizable rear design.

While Chevrolet has remained tight-lipped about the vehicle, it is expected to merge the ZR1’s twin-turbo 5.5-liter flat-plane crank V8 with the E-Ray’s front-mounted electric motor, which delivers 160 hp (119 kW / 162 PS) and 125 lb-ft (169 Nm) of torque. The V8, on the other hand, generates an astonishing 1,064 hp (793 kW / 1,079 PS) and 828 lb-ft (1,121 Nm) of torque. This implies that the all-wheel-drive Zora could exceed 1,200 hp (895 kW / 1,217 PS) and 900 lb-ft (1,219 Nm) of torque.
