The driver of this Dodge was unable to manage the 1,025 horsepower under the hood.

After losing control, he sent the Demon 170 directly into the path of two other cars.

It is unclear whether this video has been provided to the authorities to help identify the driver.

Horsepower has never been this accessible to the general public as it is today, which is a boon for some car enthusiasts; however, many individuals lack the skills to handle a vehicle that can propel them at astonishing speeds with just a tap of the accelerator.

Evidently, the driver of this Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 falls into that category, and they might want to think about taking a driving course (pun intended), or at least stick to a more manageable vehicle, such as a front-wheel-drive hatchback.

This brief clip was first posted on Instagram in November but has just recently come to our attention. It features the driver of a black Demon 170 performing an impressive burnout in what seems to be Texas. Given that the Demon 170 is equipped with a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 producing 1,025 horsepower, we can’t fully blame the driver for wanting to smoke the rear tires and leave thick tire marks on the road.

However, the driver foolishly chose to execute a burnout in the middle of a quiet suburban street, right next to houses and other parked vehicles. That is inexcusable.

Initially, the driver appears to control the burnout, but as the car begins to roll forward, the situation deteriorates. The wheels are spinning uncontrollably, and the rear of the vehicle shifts to the right. A seasoned driver might have managed to ease off the throttle to regain control, but this driver did not. Instead, they end up crashing into a parked sedan and pickup truck.

As the entire scene quickly filled with tire smoke, it’s challenging to assess the extent of the damage, but it’s almost certain that both other vehicles will require substantial bodywork repairs. The front end of the Demon 170 has likely sustained significant damage as well.

What is particularly frustrating about this incident is that shortly after the crash, the driver of the Demon 170 backs away and speeds off down the street, seemingly fleeing the scene. In the background, you can see a couple of other Challengers parked nearby, though it’s unclear whether all three belong to the same household or if they chose this street for their impromptu burnout session.

Whatever the circumstances, we hope that someone has managed to identify them and report the incident to local law enforcement.
