Clearly constructed by a Boeing engineer, this is an unusual way to explore the country in comfort.

A person was so eager to travel in a Cadillac RV that they built one in their own driveway.

The finished project is a front-wheel drive recreational vehicle featuring a very opulent interior.

With a price tag of $20,000, this mobile home presents an enticing but potentially risky option for adventurous buyers.

Recently, Cadillac teased us with a preview of a fully autonomous electric RV, but don't get your hopes up—we are still years away from that becoming a reality. We're also far from the moment when a Boeing engineer decided to create the Cadillac RV you see here. This eye-catching, quirky travel vehicle is available for a cool $20,000.

According to the seller from Auburn, Washington, this Cadillac RV stems from the work of a Boeing engineer and has an appealing look overall. While it might not be conventionally attractive, the custom nature of the build is quite noteworthy. It features a large front panel for engine access, dual windshields, and three Cadillac emblems.

Constructed on a 1974 Cadillac Eldorado chassis, this RV boasts front-wheel drive powered by a huge 500 cu. in. (8.2-liter) V8 engine. This design allows for a flat floor free of transmission or driveshaft tunnel obstructions. The driver's seat and front passenger seat are elevated, while the rest of the area is lower and includes Parkay flooring. The RV also comes equipped with a stovetop, two sinks, a dishwasher, and a toilet—effectively making it a mobile home.

Remarkably, this isn't the only Cadillac being transformed in this manner. Another individual created a similar RV by converting a 1976 Cadillac Eldorado into one they named the Star Streak II. This version utilized an engine from an Oldsmobile Toronado and, like the Cadillac RV in Washington, was also front-wheel drive. Until a few years back, it was displayed in a museum rather than being driven around the country.

Now, let’s return to the RV currently for sale. Although this vehicle was designed and crafted by a Boeing engineer—rest assured it's not going to unexpectedly drop from the sky—it does have its share of potential flaws and considerations.

Custom-built vehicles inevitably carry some risk. They can present significant safety issues, particularly since every part was made from scratch. Additionally, we must remember that this RV is based on an older vehicle; while it may have been cleverly designed, the dependability of a decades-old car might be uncertain.

However, once past these concerns, it's undeniable that this RV will likely attract attention no matter where you park it. Whether this is a positive or negative aspect depends on your comfort level with being in the limelight.
