Ferrari is set to enter the electric vehicle market this October.

Recently, a prototype was spotted at an Ionity charging station in Europe.

The prototype seems to be derived from either the Levante or Purosangue, suggesting a crossover design.

It features a CCS charging port, staggered wheels, and possibly a charging status indicator.

These are unusual times as Ferrari prepares to launch its first electric vehicle in October, with a prototype recently seen charging alongside a Volvo FH. While it’s an unusual pairing, both vehicles are premium electric options.

Putting the oddity aside, the prototype appears to be somewhat reminiscent of the Purosangue or Maserati Levante, indicating that the eventual production model may resemble a hatchback-style crossover.

In addition to this, Ferrari's EV has been observed making artificial V8 sounds in new spy footage.

While the specific appearance of the vehicle shouldn't be overly interpreted, the pronounced fender flares imply a wide track. Spy photographers also observed that the prototype is equipped with staggered wheels measuring 23 inches in the front and 24 inches in the back.

Another notable feature is a roof-mounted shark fin ‘antenna.’ Although it appears black, it occasionally flashes green or red, which hints that it might function as a charging status indicator, although this is merely speculation.

Photographers have also pointed out that the door handles are non-functional, as the doors are opened via a button. Additionally, a Combined Charging System (CCS) port and a glimpse of the cargo area were also visible.

Ferrari has remained discreet about the forthcoming model. However, the company has established a partnership with battery supplier SK On and launched their e-building last summer. This facility will produce the forthcoming EV as well as vehicles with hybrid and internal combustion engines. During the announcement, the automaker highlighted new electric motors designed to deliver the thrilling driving experience synonymous with Ferrari.
