This Cursed Camaro Three-Wheeler on the Market Is Essentially a Honda Motorcycle.
Facebook Marketplace
Three-wheelers such as the Polaris Slingshot have recently found their place in the enthusiast scene, but homemade trikes have existed for many years. Currently, there's a particularly quirky one available on Facebook Marketplace that’s looking for an adventurous individual to complete it. It resembles a first-generation Chevy Camaro that has ingested a motorcycle; however, the motorcycle came first and adopted features from the Camaro later on.
The project began with a Valkyrie—specifically the Honda model, not the Aston Martin. The two-wheeled Valkyrie was a motorcycle inspired by Harley-Davidson and produced between 1997 and 2003. Someone transformed it into a Camaro imitation by using a fiberglass front end styled like a 1969 Camaro, fiberglass doors, and a significantly narrowed metal Camaro body. From the rear, it actually appears quite impressive. And just to clarify, no classic Camaro was harmed in this process; according to the listing, new body panels were sourced specifically for the build. (It's plausible—the Camaro aftermarket is extensive, allowing for the construction of lookalikes using catalog parts.)
An unidentified Volkswagen (maybe a Beetle?) supplied the front suspension system, and disc brakes are hiding behind the shiny five-spoke wheels. While interior images are not provided, it seems there’s a steering wheel present instead of the Valkyrie’s high, curved handlebars.
Although a majority of the fabrication seems to be finished, there remains quite a bit of work before you can roll into a cars and coffee event. The alignment of the front fenders appears to be quite off, and you will need to factor in paint unless you prefer the primer look. The seller notes that the 1.5-liter flat-six engine (which is pretty cool!) is non-operational because the carburetors require rebuilding.
How challenging would it be to swap in a turbocharged flat-four from Subaru? And how unreasonable would that be? The enclosed Camaro body negates many restrictions posed by a motorcycle configuration, so someone with sufficient skills and creativity could potentially turn this into an impressive trike. Source the missing trim pieces, complete the interior, and you'll definitely draw attention with your stylish three-wheeled Camaro. Or, alternatively, just get the Honda six-cylinder motor running.
If a car-motorcycle hybrid is what your garage is missing, check out this trike on Facebook Marketplace. It’s situated in Acton, a town nestled in the mountains east of Los Angeles, and is listed at $9,100. However, it has been on the market for 16 weeks, so there may be some flexibility in the price.
