Rolls-Royce has introduced the new Spectre Black Badge, their most powerful vehicle yet.
Equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system, it generates an impressive 650 hp and 793 lb-ft of torque.
This model features various enhancements, including black accents and distinctive 23-inch wheels.
The Rolls-Royce Black Badge series is expanding with the launch of the high-performance Spectre. It stands as the most powerful Rolls-Royce ever made and marks the first fully electric Black Badge model.
Designed to be “effortlessly intense, immediate, and precise,” the Spectre Black Badge boasts an enhanced dual-motor all-wheel drive system capable of producing up to 650 hp (485 kW / 659 hp) and 793 lb-ft (1,075 Nm) of torque. This significantly exceeds the standard model's output of 577 hp (430 kW / 584 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm).
Review: The Rolls-Royce Spectre Is The Ultimate EV
Built to be “effortlessly intense, immediate, and precise,” the Spectre Black Badge features a refined dual-motor all-wheel drive system that can yield up to 650 hp (485 kW / 659 hp) and 793 lb-ft (1,075 Nm) of torque. This is a substantial increase compared to the standard version, which produces 577 hp (430 kW / 584 PS) and 664 lb-ft (900 Nm).
However, it seems that the full horsepower and torque cannot be accessed simultaneously. While Rolls-Royce was somewhat unclear, they mentioned the vehicle includes a new Infinity Mode that can be activated with a button on the steering wheel. This mode unlocks the full 650 hp to deliver a “more direct throttle response to the driver.”
To achieve maximum torque, you must choose Spirited Mode. Similar to a Launch Control for affluent drivers, Spirited Mode is engaged by pressing both the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously while stationary. Once the vehicle indicates it is ready, the torque is “temporarily” increased to 793 lb-ft (1,075 Nm), allowing the Spectre to go from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 4.1 seconds. That’s a 0.3-second improvement over the standard model.
Rolls-Royce didn't disclose further specifications, but the model likely has a 102 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which should offer an estimated range of around 277 miles (446 km).
In addition to the powertrain enhancements, engineers have increased steering weight, added upgraded dampers, and reduced body roll. Rolls-Royce stated that these changes result in an “enhanced sense of engagement” while still providing a “Magic Carpet” ride.
The styling modifications are relatively subtle, but the Black Badge is equipped with 23-inch forged aluminum wheels available in a two-tone or all-black design. The vehicle’s traditional bright features—including the Spirit of Ecstasy, grille surround, window trim, and door handles—feature a dark finish.
Customers can expect several new features and options, including an Illuminated Grille backplate available in shades like Chartreuse, Charles Blue, Forge Yellow, Turchese, and Tailored Purple. Additionally, a new Vapour Violet paint job, an Iced Black hood, and a waft coachline are offered on the lower third of the car.
Inside, clients will discover illuminated Black Badge treadplates and instrument dials in colors such as Cyan Fire, Neon Nights, Synth Wave, Vivid Grellow, or Ultraviolet. The debut model also showcases an illuminated fascia, infinity logos, and Technical Fiber trim featuring a black Bolivar wood base topped with a diamond-shaped weave made of carbon and fine metal threads.
