The new vehicles will be part of Kia’s expanding range of electric vehicles, which includes the EV3, EV5, EV6, and EV9.
Although Kia has not yet provided pictures of the EV4’s interior, it is expected to be similar to its other electric models.
The company mentions that the sedan and hatchback versions will accommodate different customer lifestyles.
Kia plans to officially unveil the fully electric EV4 series on February 27 during the Kia EV Day event in Spain. However, for those anticipating an elaborate introduction, the company has already given an early preview. Displayed in both sedan and hatchback variants, the EV4 enhances Kia’s increasing collection of electric vehicles, maintaining a strong resemblance to the initial concept with its striking and innovative design.
Both configurations feature identical front styling with vertically stacked headlights and LED daytime running lights that flow up the front. A darker lower grille section adds to the vehicle's sharp, futuristic look.
A Sedan Inspired by Supercars?
The sedan's side profile is particularly captivating. Kia’s designers appear to have drawn inspiration from renowned supercars, incorporating a ‘long tail’ style characterized by a sloping rear window and an extended rear overhang. Coupled with a glass roof and bold black C-pillars, the EV4 sedan stands out from other models in the Kia lineup.
There are several distinctions between the sedan and hatchback versions of the EV4. For instance, the sedan features vertical taillights that resemble the headlights, whereas the EV4 hatchback showcases a more attractive set of LED taillights along with a light bar. The five-door variant also opts for a more conventional design compared to the EV4 sedan, which some may find more appealing. It boasts a different pillar configuration, a smaller and more upright rear window, and a roof-mounted spoiler.
Sportier GT-Line Trim and Future Prospects
Both the sedan and hatchback will come in a GT-Line trim that sports a bolder appearance with unique 19-inch wheels and reimagined front and rear bumpers. While Kia has yet to reveal images of the EV4’s inside, it is likely to reflect the brand's current EV design philosophy, featuring a widescreen display that integrates the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster.
“The Kia EV4 symbolizes our dedication to rethinking mobility and pushing the limits of design,” stated Karim Habib, executive vice president and head of Kia Global Design. “By offering both sedan and hatchback versions, we provide our customers with a unique experience that embodies modernity and practicality, tailored to their diverse lifestyles and needs.”
With its distinctive design and two body styles, the EV4 presents yet another appealing choice in Kia’s evolving EV portfolio. The only remaining question is whether its performance and pricing will match its design.
