Audi Q4 E-Tron Introduces New Base Trim That Aims for Impressive Range | Carscoops
The base Q4 40 e-tron can achieve a range of up to 263 miles (424 km) on one charge.
Audi has launched an economical Q4 e-tron featuring 201 hp and a 263-mile range.
Pricing begins at €46,150 ($47k) in Germany, with a Sportback variant also offered.
This crossover is slightly pricier than mid-tier versions of the VW ID.4.
In 2024, Audi delivered over 100,000 Q4 e-trons, providing a rare positive aspect in an otherwise challenging year. Due to its success, Audi plans to expand the lineup to include a new “high-range entry-level variant.”
Set to begin orders later this month, the new Q4 40 e-tron is equipped with a 63 kWh battery that powers a rear-mounted motor producing 201 hp (150 kW / 204 PS). This allows the crossover to go from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 8.1 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 99 mph (160 km/h). Customers can also expect a travel range of up to 263 miles (424 km) between charges.

When it’s time to recharge the battery, owners will appreciate the Q4’s 165 kW DC fast charging capability, which enables the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. If time is tight, a ten-minute stop can provide an additional 96 miles (155 km) of range.
Additionally, drivers now have the option to manually activate battery preconditioning, a beneficial feature for those who don’t rely on the navigation system's automatic preconditioning function.
In Germany, pricing starts at €46,150 ($47,836), which is significantly lower than the €52,950 ($54,885) Q4 45 e-tron. However, the latter comes with a larger 82 kWh battery and a more powerful 282 hp (210 kW / 286 PS) motor. Alternatively, customers can also choose the Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron for €48,150 ($49,904).
Audi has not provided extensive details about the equipment, but the crossovers include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, GPS navigation, and heated front seats. A power liftgate comes standard, though a kick sensor is optional.
