A Lamborghini Urus flipped onto its roof and ignited after a collision in Sicily.

The incident occurred in mid-January near a gas station, involving a small Fiat Idea minivan.

Witnesses used fire extinguishers to quell the flames before emergency services could reach the scene.

In a striking example of automotive calamity, a black Lamborghini Urus was destroyed in Italy following a crash with a Fiat Idea. The collision left both vehicles severely damaged, with the Urus flipping onto its roof and catching fire. Despite this disastrous situation, the good news is that no one was seriously injured, which may be the only benefit for this damaged vehicle.

The event took place in mid-January close to the village of Donnalucata on the sunny island of Sicily. While specific details are scarce, it appears both vehicles were traveling in the same direction when the crash occurred near a gas station. One might wonder how a Lamborghini collided with a small, economical Fiat Idea, but here we are.

Video captured shortly after the incident shows the Urus lying on the roadside, flames consuming its front end. It seems the front of the Lamborghini bore the brunt of the crash, although the exact cause of its flip remains unclear. Witnesses promptly approached the Lamborghini and managed to extinguish the fire with multiple fire extinguishers before local authorities arrived.

According to SVN, the driver of the Lamborghini was helped out of the upside-down Urus shortly following the crash. The driver reportedly sustained minor injuries, but the situation could have been far worse. Had they been trapped inside the overturned SUV as it caught fire, the outcome could have been significantly more severe. Fortunately, that did not occur.

The fact that the Urus ignited will only add to the owner's distress. This isn't the first time a Lamborghini has ended up in flames. We've previously reported on a series of fiery incidents involving Italian supercars, including a newly-delivered Revuelto that was reduced to ashes in New York City last October.
