DS Surpasses BMW and Audi in Pricing, No8 Priced Up to $78,000 | Carscoops
Indeed, examining all the options raises the flagship trim’s cost to nearly €90,000 ($89,100) in France.
DS Automobiles has announced the pricing for the No8 range in the French market.
The entry price starts at €59,200 ($61,300), making the French flagship electric vehicle more expensive than the BMW i4 Gran Coupe.
When compared to the DS9, the DS No8 is still priced lower in its most premium configuration.
DS Automobiles has officially introduced the new No8, with initial deliveries expected in the latter half of 2025. This new electric fastback, which adds a crossover twist, aims to serve as the company's flagship. Notably, it does not carry the highest price within the DS lineup.
In France, the DS No8 is priced from €59,200 (approximately $61,300 at current exchange rates) for the entry-level Pallas FWD model, rising to €74,600 ($77,300) for the high-end Etoile AWD Long Range variant. The latter is the only model with a dual-motor setup, generating 370 horsepower (276 kW / 375 PS) and exclusively paired with a larger 97.2 kWh battery, yielding an impressive WLTP range of 686 km (426 miles).
Interestingly, DS intends for the No8 to compete with formidable opponents, even directly referencing Audi and BMW in its official presentation. However, the No8's base price is significantly higher than the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron (€46,990 / $48,700) and the BMW i4 Gran Coupe (€57,600 / $59,700). Opting for the fully equipped version positions it against larger, more established premium electric vehicles, like the Audi A6 Sportback e-tron (€66,420 / $68,800), the Mercedes-Benz EQE Sedan (€70,050 / $72,600), and the BMW i5 (€76,250 / $79,000).
Surprisingly, it’s not the most expensive DS available.
When compared to other models in its lineup, the flagship variant of the electric fastback is offered at a lower price than the DS7 Performance PHEV SUV, starting at €75,800 ($78,600), and the DS9 Opera E-Tense 4×4 PHEV sedan, which is priced up to €89,250 ($95,500).
Naturally, we wanted to determine how high the price of the No8 could reach when fully outfitted, so we explored the official configurator.
The exterior of our fully-loaded DS No8 Etoile features Crystal Pearl paint (€1,000), complemented by a black roof (€400) and 21-inch Cassiopeia alloy wheels (€1,100). The illuminated grille and DS Pixel Vision headlights are standard on the Etoile trim.
For the interior, we chose Chestnut Brown Nappa Leather upholstery (€2,350), along with a laminated panoramic roof (€800), as well as the Absolute Comfort Pack (€2,500) and Absolute Tech Pack (€1,350), both of which introduce features like the DS Night Vision system. Additionally, we added the 22kW three-phase onboard charger (€900) and a tool-free removable tow bar (€990).
In total, a fully equipped DS No8 amounts to €85,990 ($89,100). While this is a considerable price for an electric vehicle from a relatively new brand like DS, it is still less than that of the DS9 Opera sedan. However, the DS9 is now limited to existing stock as its production has officially concluded.
DS has recently shared its long-term vision of exceeding mere premium status, striving to penetrate the upper luxury market segment. This indicates that we may see even more expensive offerings from the Stellantis brand in the future, potentially including special editions of the DS No8.
Below is a summary of the electric fastback’s pricing in the French market, along with images showcasing its "Bentley-inspired" interior.
