A unique hubless electric motorcycle inspired by Tron is set to go to auction without a reserve, and it may sell for significantly less than anticipated.
The street-legal motorcycle, designed in the style of the iconic Tron Light Cycle from the well-known film, boasts striking 24-inch hubless wheels and glowing accents. This is one of only ten units ever manufactured, and it is the very first one produced.
This creation by Parker Brothers, known as the PBC NeuTron, transitions from being merely aspirational in sci-fi to genuinely inspirational. It is a fully functional, all-electric hubless motorcycle that is ready to find a new owner when it goes to auction in January.
With its bold design featuring noticeable hubless wheels, illuminated accents, and an understated black body, the motorcycle prioritizes visual appeal.
Despite its eye-catching aesthetics, this bike is not just for display. It meets all the requirements for street legality, equipped with headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, mirrors, a tag holder, and a tag light.
However, don’t expect it to be particularly fast; the electric motor generates only 60 horsepower (45 kW) with a top speed ranging between 100 to 120 mph. The motorcycle seems to be designed more for leisurely rides and making a statement, reflected in its riding posture.
Riders need to adopt a wide hand position and lean forward significantly to operate the bike, while their feet rest in a vertical position against flat platforms located towards the rear.
Interestingly, this motorcycle, identified by the frame VIN (1P9RBE05XEC676052), has a history of being auctioned, having appeared at a Mecum auction in January 2025. The details of its previous sale were not disclosed, indicating its niche market appeal.
A report from 2020 indicated that the original price of this bike could have been around $75,000. In 2017, a similar model sold at RM Sotheby’s for only $23,000. Parker Brothers noted that another unit was once sold for $22,000 above retail, making it difficult to establish a clear market value.
Now, it is set to return to the auction scene at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale sale with no reserve price. Depending on the bidders present and their enthusiasm for this piece of sci-fi memorabilia, the final price could vary from a steal to a competitive bidding situation.
So, if the idea of having a real light cycle parked in your garage excites you, the NeuTron is ready to find a new home. Just be prepared for it to possibly outshine your vehicle, your neighbors’ cars, and the entire street. You can view the listing here.
