The innovative voice assistant incorporates cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies.
Artificial intelligence is increasingly becoming part of everyday life, transforming aspects from shopping to working. It is now making significant strides in the automotive sector, moving beyond peripheral applications. At CES 2026, Bosch, the world's largest automotive supplier, plans to showcase a new AI platform aimed at enhancing vehicle connectivity and responsiveness through a combination of emerging technologies.
Bosch's AI-driven cockpit represents a significant evolution, striving to convert the car from a mere transportation method into an intelligent, self-learning companion that understands the driver's habits, preferences, and circumstances.
Rethinking the Driving Experience
For example, the platform features a newly designed voice assistant that not only reacts to commands but also anticipates the driver’s needs. If the driver says, “I’m feeling cold,” the car could automatically warm the seat and adjust the fan temperature without any further instructions.
The company’s AI system is powered by Nvidia’s Drive AGX Orin system-on-chip, which can deliver up to 200 tera operations per second. This chip processes real-time sensor data and supports advanced vision-language models, allowing the AI to reason across multiple steps and engage in more natural, conversational interactions.
Bosch also envisions transforming “unproductive downtime” in vehicles into opportunities for productive work. To facilitate this, it is collaborating with Microsoft and integrating its Foundry platform, which is used for creating, customizing, and managing AI applications and agents.
Microsoft Office On The Go
The system even provides access to the Microsoft 365 suite, which is integrated into the vehicle’s interface. In practice, this allows a driver to join a Microsoft Teams meeting with a simple voice command, while the car automatically activates adaptive cruise control to ease the driving process.
Bosch’s new AI platform will be unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas in January. The company aims to generate over €2 billion in sales for in-vehicle infotainment solutions by 2030.
“The new AI extension platform enables straightforward and rapid upgrades of existing cockpit systems with advanced AI functionalities,” stated Markus Heyn, chairman of Bosch mobility. “This enhances the driving experience, making it more comfortable, intuitive, and safer for all passengers.”
