Giant Group, the largest bike manufacturer in the world, is relocating its US headquarters | Carscoops
Giant’s U.S. division is set to relocate its headquarters from California to Colorado, with operations transitioning in early 2026.
Giant Group USA is leaving its long-standing base in California and moving to Boulder, Colorado. The world’s largest bike brand will shift from its current site in Newbury Park.
The move is scheduled to commence early next year, with most employees expected to be situated in Boulder by autumn. Giant claims this transition is focused on situating itself in the epicenter of America’s cycling scene.
In a statement obtained by SBG, Giant revealed it is in the closing stages of finalizing an office location near downtown Boulder, which is precisely where one would expect a cycling brand to establish itself.
Boulder boasts an extensive network of cycling infrastructure, professional athletes, outdoor startups, and endurance sport organizations. For a company that designs equipment for those who enjoy mountain climbing as a pastime, Boulder represents an ideal location.
While California is renowned for its cycling culture, with Specialized still maintaining its U.S. headquarters there, Colorado is rapidly emerging as another key area for the industry.
“Boulder provides a distinctive mix of community, terrain, and industry partnerships that align perfectly with Giant’s mission and business objectives,” stated Chris Lai, Giant USA’s operations general manager.
The company indicated that this relocation is part of a larger effort to refine its U.S. strategies and enhance product development.
“This move allows Giant to realign our business objectives and invigorate our team, enabling us to better serve our retailers, athletes, and cyclists,” commented Angelo Mascelli, business general manager. “It also strengthens our commitment to delivering the next generation of product innovations and brand experiences.”
To address concerns from retailers and cyclists about potential disruptions, Giant reassures that its operations will remain stable. The brand has a transition strategy in place and is collaborating with relocation experts to ensure that support channels function without interruptions. It's important to note that Giant is still headquartered in Taiwan, so production is unlikely to be significantly affected.
