Vienna officials directed the removal of a Ferrari 296 GTB from a balcony shortly after its striking arrival.

A local man had used a crane to hoist the Ferrari onto his balcony because he lacked a garage.

Authorities cited fire and structural safety concerns for the order.

The owner expressed that he intended to showcase the car “as if it were a piece of art.”

Car enthusiasts are familiar with the seasonal pattern: as winter approaches, performance vehicles are put away in dry, climate-controlled spaces to remain protected. However, one man in Vienna encountered an unexpected challenge: he was one parking space short for his Ferrari 296 GTB.

In response, he took bold action typical of someone with substantial wealth. He employed a crane to lift the car onto his private balcony, but city officials intervened before he could fully enjoy his setup.

The individual in question is 28-year-old Amar Dezic, who owns a car parts and tuning business in Vienna. Reports indicate he possesses several luxury vehicles, including a Porsche Panamera, BMW M2, and a Range Rover Sport.

Notably, the Ferrari is in a class of its own, and when winter approached, he specifically inquired with his apartment complex about acquiring an additional garage space for the season. After his request was denied, he creatively thought of placing it on his balcony.

He arranged for a crane to elevate the vehicle onto the balcony, where he intended to encase it in a box, treating it as an artistic display for the winter months.

He turned the whole operation into a spectacle, documenting the process on film, which is understandable given the unconventional nature of craning a Ferrari onto a balcony during the day.

“The expenses were in the four-digit range,” Amar Dezic shared with BILD. “I envisioned constructing another illuminated glass box for it, presenting it as a work of art.” Dezic noted that such displays are considered normal in places like Dubai.

However, in Vienna, the authorities put a stop to this arrangement. Within a week of the Ferrari's placement on the balcony, they informed Dezic it had to be removed due to concerns about the building’s structural integrity and fire safety.

A different crane was dispatched last Friday to take the car down, and the operation was executed just as smoothly as when it was lifted. Consequently, Dezic will now store the vehicle at his workplace. This must have been an expensive lesson learned.
