Tesla's update features smarter navigation tools and enhanced charging support.

Drivers benefit from 3D Supercharger maps along with improved Dog Mode snapshots.

New Toybox functionalities introduce enjoyable visuals, filters, and seasonal animations.

It's that time of year when Tesla rolls out a range of new features and festive elements. For the 2025 holiday season, this includes upgrades to navigation, charging, and overall usability, as well as some enjoyable software additions that will bring more cheer to every Tesla around.

One of the most notable updates is the integration of Grok, a chatbot developed by xAI, into the navigation system. Drivers can use voice commands to add or modify destinations completely.

If the directions are correct, it removes the need to tap on-screen buttons. Furthermore, it provides additional information about destinations, including reviews and nearby points of interest.

Features You Didn’t Know You Wanted

Tesla has also unveiled a new 3D Supercharger site map. Currently available at a select number of pilot locations, it shows real-time stall availability, site layouts, and nearby amenities. This feature seems to be a logical precursor to Tesla's eventual implementation of more detailed charging reservations.

Owners who frequently utilize Dog Mode will value the new Live Activity view, which periodically takes snapshots of the cabin and makes them accessible to the owner.

The Dashcam viewer has also been enhanced, incorporating overlays for speed, steering angle, and information about self-driving status, which can be extremely useful following an incident.

Additional minor features include a location-based charging limit, an alert for forgotten phones, the ability to disable wireless charging pads, and automatic routing into HOV lanes according to occupancy and regional rules. Naturally, as a ‘holiday update,’ there are several software modifications intended purely for enjoyment.

For 2025, this encompasses a refreshed Santa Mode, new light shows, and even a photobooth mode for activities inside the car. Owners can also customize wraps, license plates, and tints through the upgraded Paint Shop. Adding to the package is the SpaceX ISS Docking Simulator, a 3D mini-game designed to mimic actual NASA interface controls.

Like many of Tesla’s seasonal updates, this one offers a variety of features. We are eager to see how owners take advantage of them. Perhaps next time there's an unexpected crash, the additional data overlays will help us resolve it more swiftly than before.
