      Police apprehended a woman after a child under ten crashed a car she allegedly instructed to move, leaving neighbors in shock.

      A strange situation occurred in San Antonio recently when home security footage captured a young child driving a car and colliding with a truck.

      In the videos, a sedan rapidly reverses down the street with evident screams heard in the background. The child then jerks the steering wheel, causing the car to turn as the front door swings open. The vehicle subsequently crashes into a white pickup parked on the street.

      According to News 4 San Antonio, the child was under ten years old. Sadly, she was injured with a cut on her forehead and "road rash" on one leg.

      While young children are sometimes known to take cars for joy rides, that was reportedly not the case here. Contrary to that, the NBC affiliate reported that 25-year-old Ladeja Pickett was decorating for Christmas and asked the child, who was not hers, to move the car.

      Police stated the child followed the instruction and was thrown from the vehicle before the crash. Pickett was reportedly arrested, although details on the charges remain unclear, and Bexar County's inmate lookup system is lacking in information.

      Nonetheless, it's easy to envision charges arising, as permitting a young child to drive is extremely irresponsible. Texas has a graduated driver license program, allowing 15-year-olds to obtain a learner’s license to practice driving with an adult. They can then apply for a provisional license at 16, provided they meet certain criteria.
