Ford is now offering used cars for sale on Amazon | Carscoops
Ford dealers have started listing certified pre-owned vehicles on Amazon Autos, allowing consumers to purchase them online.
The initiative is being introduced in Dallas, Seattle, and Los Angeles, with plans for future expansion to additional locations.
This collaboration enables customers to explore used vehicles from the comfort of their homes. If they discover a vehicle they like, they can buy it online and arrange a pickup time. Shoppers will see vehicles available within a 75-mile radius, along with detailed pricing and options to apply for financing online.
While purchasing a vehicle without seeing it in person may not be ideal, Ford assures that all models have undergone a multi-point inspection and include roadside assistance. Most notably, there is a 14-day/1,000-mile money-back guarantee.
There are three tiers of certification available. The Gold Certified designation is for Ford vehicles up to six years old with fewer than 80,000 miles. These vehicles undergo a 172-point inspection and include a 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty.
The EV Certified option is akin to the Gold certification but is specifically for electric vehicles. This category offers the same warranty and is subjected to a specialized 127-point inspection.
Lastly, there is the Blue Certified category, which includes vehicles from Ford and other manufacturers that are up to ten years old with less than 150,000 miles. These vehicles pass a 139-point inspection and come with a 90-day/4,000-mile warranty.
It is yet to be determined how consumers will respond to purchasing Fords on Amazon Autos, but dealers are enthusiastic about the concept. The Blue Oval has reported that around 20 dealers have already signed up, with an additional 160-180 showing interest.
