Though the current Nissan Pathfinder has only been on the market since 2022, Nissan is already enhancing it with new design features and technology. We got our first glimpse today, ahead of its public unveiling at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show later this month.
One of the first things you’ll notice is the sharper front end, now incorporating lighting along its edges. The bumper also features the sculpted faux intakes on the sides that were previously seen on the Ariya. (Remember the Ariya?) The rear, in comparison, appears largely unchanged. However, I am fond of the new color showcased in these images—it’s named Baltic Teal.
Inside, the standard infotainment display is now significantly wider, measuring 12.3 inches diagonally, with smaller bezels. The two knobs that used to flank the screen have been removed, replaced by a single volume dial positioned below the display, surrounded by a few small physical buttons. Fans of tactile controls will likely appreciate the new Pathfinder, as it retains many of the old styles. All HVAC and media controls are presented as physical buttons, rather than flat capacitive ones or exclusively touchscreen functions.
Elsewhere, the integrated wireless charging pad has been revamped to perform more reliably, featuring a new magnet positioning system and a cooling fan. It will now operate at 15 watts, a significant improvement over the previous 5 watts, meaning it could finally charge your phone effectively. In addition, every Pathfinder now comes with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The 360-degree monitor has received enhancements, including two new features: one that provides a wide, 180-degree view of the vehicle's front, left, and right sides, and another that assists drivers in seeing areas obscured by the SUV’s hood.
Under the hood, the Pathfinder retains its existing naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine, delivering 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed transmission. Nissan manufactures the Pathfinder in Tennessee and anticipates that 2026 model-year vehicles will reach dealers early next year.
