The Corolla Cross Nasu makes its debut as the first among many Toyota concepts for SEMA.

It sports a purple wrap and features a custom body kit along with off-road equipment.

Maintaining its hybrid configuration, it also benefits from a raised suspension and all-terrain tires.

Toyota is providing its compact crossover with a touch of mountainous adventure through a unique build that transforms the standard Corolla Cross into a more daring vehicle.

The 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu Edition, one of several concepts set to appear at this year’s SEMA Show, boasts a custom body kit, off-road enhancements, a lift kit, and substantial all-terrain tires suited for the small SUV.

The concept draws inspiration from Nasu Mountain in Japan, known for its hiking trails, hot springs, and outdoor activities. Interestingly, the term “nasu” has two meanings in Japanese: it can mean “to achieve” when used as a verb, while as a noun it refers to “eggplant,” which is reflected in the vehicle's distinctive purple wrap.

If you look beyond the striking colors, you’ll see that this Corolla Cross is elevated due to a suspension lift and fitted with new black truck wheels wrapped in Toyo Open Country A/T III all-terrain tires.

Its rugged appearance is amplified by the concept body kit, which features wide fender extensions, redesigned skid plates, rock sliders, additional LEDs, and a somewhat superfluous hood scoop.

Additionally, a Nasu-branded roof rack paired with a specialized downhill mountain bike pays tribute to Junior World Champion Asa Vermette.

Inside, enhancements include illuminated door sills, cargo sills, and puddle lamps, along with a unique arrangement for the cargo area. The trunk is equipped with a lockable drawer containing a large JBL Bluetooth speaker and a portable fridge.

Under the hood, everything remains standard, featuring a 2.0-liter hybrid powertrain that produces a combined output of 196 hp (146 kW / 199 PS) delivered to all four wheels.

The 2026 Corolla Cross Hybrid Nasu concept has been developed by Toyota’s Service Parts and Accessories Development (SPAD) team, utilizing CAD design, 3D printing, CNC machining, and assembly across various locations.

Mike Tripp, group vice president of Toyota Marketing, remarked: “With the Corolla Cross Nasu Edition, we’re demonstrating how one of our most popular and accessible nameplates can be reimagined to reflect Toyota’s adventurous spirit.”

This unique vehicle is set to debut at the 2025 SEMA Show in Las Vegas from November 4 to 7, alongside over two dozen other Toyota concepts expected to be showcased at the event. More details about these will gradually unfold in the upcoming weeks.
