AMG’s final V8 C-Class continues to depreciate, yet collectors are still holding on for now.

Only 499 units of the Mercedes-AMG C 63 S Final Edition were produced.

This particular vehicle has changed owners multiple times, despite having only 932 miles on the odometer.

The Final Edition package added $36,363 to the C 63 S's original price.

Among all the Mercedes-Benz C 63 models produced in the last decade, the 2023 Coupe Final Edition is likely the most appealing to collectors. It signifies the end of a generation and marks the conclusion of AMG's long-standing relationship with the V8 engine in this lineup.

Recently, one of these models was sold on Bring a Trailer. Though it fetched a price significantly lower than its original sticker, the rate of depreciation seems to be slowing, suggesting that values could stabilize or even increase in the future.

The true significance, however, goes beyond its investment potential. Despite being less than two years old and having only 932 miles (1,499 km), this C63 S has already had three owners and registrations across states like South Carolina, North Dakota, and Montana.

In December 2023, it sold for $129,000, and it was recently auctioned for $105,000 on Bring a Trailer.

      What Makes It Unique?

The C205 generation of the C 63 is the last iteration to feature a V8 engine before AMG made the contentious switch to a hybridized turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, which did not garner a warm reception from buyers.

Even without a manual transmission, which is often a hallmark of future classics, this car's status as the last V8-powered C-Class gives it significant importance. Moreover, only 499 units of the C 63 S Final Edition were manufactured.

The Final Edition package added $36,363 to the coupe's base cost, indicating it was tailored for enthusiasts looking for something special.

This specific car was also equipped with $2,500 AMG Performance Seats, a $1,250 Multimedia Package, and a $1,750 AMG Aerodynamics Package, raising the total price to $133,063.

Identifying future classics is challenging, but it’s easy to envision a scenario where low-mileage C 63 S models like this may soon exchange hands for close to or even above their original MSRPs.

As is commonly observed, there may still be further depreciation before prices begin to stabilize and gradually rise again.
