Renault has teased its fourth-generation Twingo ahead of its launch next month.
This hatchback, smaller than the Clio, will go electric and is expected to be priced below £17k/€20k.
Its design is inspired by the Twingo of the 1990s, which was previewed by the 2024 concept.
Renault is ready to introduce its third blend of electric power and nostalgic design. The completely new, fourth-generation Twingo E-Tech will make its appearance on November 6, just weeks away.
Priced under £17k/€20k, this hatchback is smaller than the Clio and 5 E-Tech, directly competing with the production version of Volkswagen’s ID. Every1 concept, likely named ID. Lupo. However, the VW model is not expected to launch until 2027, giving Renault, along with BYD and its new Dolphin Surf, a significant advantage.

This might not be the only benefit for the Twingo. Although the ID. Every1 appears stylish and contemporary, many potential buyers, especially the younger audience Renault is focusing on, might be drawn to the endearing frog-like face of the French car.
Inspiration from historical Renault designs is evident, as this revamped model draws from the first-generation Twingo from the 1990s. This will likely evoke nostalgia among those familiar with the original, although it won't be an issue for those who aren’t, as the UK never received the first generation.
Based on recent teaser images and last year’s concept, which is expected to closely resemble the production version, the 2026 Twingo has its own appealing design.

Modern LED technology gives the car a friendly, cartoonish Expression, with a similar wide-eyed look at the back. The relaxed windshield extends towards the front, minimizing the hood size; however, unlike the two-door original Twingo, this model will be exclusively a four-door.
We are still awaiting details on the interior, but it is likely to include a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster as depicted in the concept.
The base 5 E-Tech produces 94 hp (95 PS / 70 kW) and offers a range of 194 miles (312 km) from a 40 kWh battery, but don't be surprised if Twingo’s specifications are scaled back to keep the price under €20,000.
For reference, the newly updated Dacia Spring is equipped with a 24.3 kWh LFP battery, providing a range of 140 miles (225 km). Either way, we will learn all the details on November 6.
